FamilyTracking is a family locator app for Android and iOS. Each family member installs the app and joins a private Circle by invitation. Once everyone has accepted, members can see each other's live location on a shared map, receive arrival and departure alerts for saved places, and reach each other instantly with the SOS button. Sharing is always consent-based: every member chooses to join and can pause or adjust sharing at any time.

Yes. The free plan includes real-time location sharing for one Circle, two saved place alerts, and 2 days of location history. Premium plans add unlimited place alerts, 30–90 days of history, driving reports, crash detection and priority support. You can stay on the free plan as long as you like — no credit card required.

No. FamilyTracking is built around informed consent. A person only appears on the family map after they install the app themselves and accept an invitation to a Circle. The app shows a persistent indicator while sharing is active, and any member can pause sharing from their own device. We do not support hidden or covert tracking of any kind.

In open outdoor conditions, GPS accuracy is typically within 5–15 meters. The app blends GPS, Wi-Fi and cell-tower data, so accuracy can vary indoors, in dense city centers, or underground. If a phone goes offline, the map shows the last known location with a timestamp so you always know how fresh the data is.

The app uses motion-aware tracking: when a phone is stationary it checks location far less often, ramping up only while moving. Most users see roughly 2–5% additional battery use per day, and Battery Saver mode inside the app reduces update frequency further.

Yes. FamilyTracking supports Android 8.0+ and iOS 14+, and family members can mix platforms freely — a parent on iPhone can see a teen on Android and vice versa. All features, including place alerts and SOS, work identically on both.

A Circle supports up to 10 members on every plan — enough for parents, kids, grandparents and caregivers. Premium users can also create multiple Circles, for example one for immediate family and another for a carpool group.

Yes. Location data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest on our servers. Only members of your Circle can see your location — there are no public profiles, and we never sell location data to advertisers or data brokers. You can delete your history or your entire account at any time from the app's settings.

The map shows the member's last known location with a timestamp and a status badge such as "Offline" or "Phone off". As soon as the device reconnects, the location updates and the timeline fills in. You can also turn on a notification that tells you when a family member's phone goes offline.

Yes — many families use it for aging parents who live independently. Elderly Care Mode offers a simplified interface with large buttons, a one-tap SOS that alerts the whole Circle with location, and optional inactivity alerts. It runs on standard smartphones, so there's no special hardware to buy.

We focus on three things: a genuinely useful free plan, strict consent-based sharing, and cross-platform parity so Android and iPhone users get the same features. Unlike platform tools such as Find My, FamilyTracking works across both ecosystems — and subscriptions are our only business model, so we never monetize your data.
